About Us

The Book Hut was started by Rachael Crowhen, a part Fijian and a mother of three young children.

Rachael has always been passionate about her Fijian culture and with three young children of mixed ethnicity living in New Zealand, she wanted to make sure she gave them as many opportunities as possible to learn about and identify with their Fijian heritage.

One of the ways she has done this has been to read them children’s books written in Fijian. Not only are they benefiting from the value of reading but also benefiting reading about their Fijian heritage.

So, deciding that there must be many other parents out there who also want the same for their children and with helpful advice from her father, Rachael started The Book Hut. We hope you find a book today for you and your children to enjoy and benefit from forever!
